Objectives

  1. Research Excellence:
  • Conduct high-quality research in agriculture and forestry.
  • Develop innovative solutions to address climate change, food security, and biodiversity conservation.
  1. Capacity Building:
  • Train and develop the next generation of scientists, researchers, and practitioners.
  • Offer workshops, seminars, and training programs for farmers, policymakers, and community leaders.
  • Enhance knowledge and skills of the farming communities through participatory adaptive research.
  1. Sustainable Practices:
  • Promote sustainable agricultural and forestry practices.
  • Improve the productivity of crops & develop strategies for sustainable natural resource management.
  • Advocate for policies that support environmental sustainability and resource conservation.
  • Determine the profitability and level of adoption of crops and accompanying agronomic technology options in AFREC.
  1. Knowledge Dissemination:
  • Publish research findings in reputable journals and disseminate knowledge through various platforms.
  • Summarize, manage, disseminate, exchange and provide information services on agricultural, forestry and rural development research results;
  • Engage with  stakeholders  through  conferences,  publications,  and outreach programs.
  1. Community Engagement:
  • Work closely with local communities to implement research findings.
  • Study climate change, create a map to predict the risk of drought, flood, pests and animal diseases, including advice on agricultural meteorology, various technical techniques to help farmers adapt to climate change and reduce the effects of natural disasters;
  • Enhance community resilience through education and practical support.
