Dr. Hanan Sid Ahmed Ibn Oaf is a dedicated agricultural scientist specializing in plant breeding and molecular biology. She earned her B.Sc. in Agricultural Sciences (1996) and M.Sc. in Plant Breeding (1998) from the University of Gezira, Sudan, both with distinction. In 2013, she completed her Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Molecular Biology through a collaborative sandwich program between the University of Gezira and INRA-Avignon, France, gaining international research experience.

Her academic career spans over two decades at the University of Gezira, where she has held positions from Teaching Assistant to Associate Professor (since 2019). She also served as Head of the Department of Horticultural Sciences (2021–2023). Dr. Hanan is deeply involved in teaching, research, student supervision, and academic committee work, contributing significantly to graduate student projects and international research collaborations.

Beyond academics, she enhances student learning through field training tours across Sudan, bridging theory with practical agricultural applications. Through her commitment to research, education, and mentorship, Dr. Hanan continues to shape the future of agricultural sciences and plant breeding.
