Simon K. Kimani has master’s degree in business administration (MBA). He is an accomplished Business Development Expert/ Business management consultant with extensive experience in financial management, Business Development Services (BDS), Personal Finance Advisory Services, Investment Advisor, analysis/appraisal, management and monitoring and evaluation as well as capacity and institutional development spanning over 30 years. During this period, Simon worked fulltime with five organizations for a combined duration of 16 years and provided consultancy services for 14 years to government agencies; development partners; the private sector and Internationals Non-Government Organizations (NGOs). Sectors and thematic areas covered include agriculture, climate change and resilience, policy formulation, implementation and review and food security.

Furthermore, he has extensive experience building the capacity of over 60 seed companies across 20 African Countries and agribusiness SME in Financial Management, Seed business management, Seed marketing and Distribution, accounting and finance teams to use and optimize the capabilities from these investments. Specifically, and in the last 12 years, Simon has supported over 60 agribusiness seed SMEs across 20 African countries. He has also supported 4 Agribusiness SMEs namely: Farm Input Care Centre (FICA) Seeds Ltd in seed sector and served as Finance Manager; KK Exporters and served as both financial management consultant and Chief Operations Officer (COO) supported by USAID; Sesaco Ltd is soya based manufacturing company and served as financial management specialist supported by IFAD and Afro-Kai Ltd, an agro-processing company and served both as financial management consultant and Chief Finance Officer (CFO) all in Uganda in development of sound financial management practices with online support currently ongoing. Simon is also an in -house Business Development Expert providing technical capacity building to Seed Companies in Somalia, Eritrea, Djibouti and South Sudan.
